Schlafzyklus (Sleep Cycle) is a nine-minute video/sound piece that I presented as part of transformart 2018, a festival in the industrial Rathenau Halls in Berlin, Schöneweide.
The formal structure of the video parallels a human sleep cycle, which is normally 90 minutes long, but for the video is reduced to 9 minutes. The video begins with idealized forest scenes and slowly slips into dreams and then nightmares, taking the viewer with it. The soundtrack is quadraphonic (4-channel), for an immersive experience.
The video/sound installation was presented in a dark room in the cellar of a beautiful, turn-of-the-century power station at the Rathenau Halls in Berlin, Germany.
